How can you make an image look like it is in motion on paper, other than blurring it?

How about staggering slices? The effect is full of movement, and in a row the trio is absolutely striking…


…but even in a poster on its own, the figure looks active.


The thin rectangular strips behind the text pieces are eye-catching and reinforce the lines created by the photo slices. Together, the firm, straight lines contrast with the fluid curves of the dancer’s body, hair, and dress.
