History is supposed to repeat itself. But apparently millennials are unprecedented in the number and intensity of their burdens.

Rather than opine on the validity of this, I want to highlight the most awesomely designed long-form digital editorial piece I’ve seen in a long time:

http://highline.huffingtonpost.com/articles/en/poor-millennials/

The page moves you on your screen as if you were in a highly pixellated computer game, which so many millennials can remember playing way back when. And the scrolling effects…SO, SO GOOD. My favorite is the cross-stitch embroidery disintegrating, even though that’s also a message I never really want to see directed at me.

Go explore it. And pity millennials, if you feel compelled to, but also realize that the page was probably conceived of, designed, and built by millennials.

Pity and awe make an odd combination, and maybe that’s fittingly unprecedented.
